It was said that practice leads to perfection. This is not necessarily true. All of us know someone who practices a skill our a ability for years even decades but doesn't master it.
In my opinion, failing to plan is planning to fail. Need to have a good plan and a good strategy. If we don't do it our efforts might be in vain.
A good strategy is to choose ability or skill and divided into smaller parts. The first stop is to practice as a whole. After it and analyze all our results in each one of these parts practice this smaller parts. We need to interleave between practice the whole ability or the smaller parts.
Learning is a ability and as any ability we can improve it. So we need to learn about learn. The more we learn about the process of learning the better will be our results. There's an excellent book about it. The title is Ultra learning by Scott Young. I recommend it.
We need to focus not only in practicing but also about the quality of the practice. Learning is a choice and we can choose to learn and to practice with quality.
